Fishing at Jordanelle Reservoir

Matt has been wanting to take the girls fishing for quite a while now so we set aside a day to give it a try in Park City.  Rather than spend hundreds of dollars per person to have a guided trip, we stopped at Walmart to buy poles, bait and a one day fishing license and headed out on our own.  I was merely the photographer for this adventure!
The hotel concierge told us the Jordanelle Reservoir would be a good bet for a day of fishing so we followed her lead.
Matt prepped the poles with line and worms and taught the girls how to cast.

He also explained that fishing is a lesson in patience...wait for the fish to bite, the bobber to go under the water and carefully tug and reel in the line.  Unfortunately, nothing was biting.
However, we did see two deer hanging out on the other side of the water (Allison freaked out, but we loved it!).

Taylor even got brave enough to pick out her own worms and hook them on.

Both girls got quite good at casting too!

A momma duck with her 8 babies crossing the reservoir.  Although the wildlife was really neat, the fishing wasn't so good, so we moved to another spot and had great success.
Within minutes, the girls were getting bites and FISH!
They were only little perches, but were good enough.  Every time the girls casted, they got a bite and probably ended up catching 10-12 little guys.  Matt taught them how to reel them in and unhook the fish, before releasing them back into the water.
The girls loved it and can't wait to go again closer to home!
