After dinner, we took a little drive around the city to check out some of the other resorts we have heard about. The Marriott Mountainside is just about 2 minutes down the road from where we are staying and is the perfect winter wonderland resort. It connects to the Payday lift and has a real ski lodge feel to it.
Then we ventured up Deer Valley Road to check out Montage, but on our way we got a fantastic view of a buck grazing right along the street. We quickly learned that Allison is deathly afraid of deer...who knew?
She panicked with each one we saw, without explanation. Unfortunately, we probably saw 15 dead deer along the roadside throughout the week, but it was so cool getting to see these so up close.
The Montage Resort was breathtaking. The views were spectacular and the entry was over the top. We felt a little silly going through the roundabout in my Honda CRV since every other car we saw was a Rolls Royce, Bentley or Mercedes, but it was fun anyway!!
I just loved all of the log cabins and mountain homes we saw along the way.
