Better Late Than Never

I'm not sure how this is the first time I have seen these, but an email arrived today asking if I was still interested in purchasing these graduation photos.
Not much need for them now, but love the close ups I couldn't get from the stands.  Hard to believe this was almost a year ago already!!

Science City

I had a late flight tonight so picked up these 2 for a day in Kansas City.  They have been wanting to visit the Science City museum in Union Station.  Today was the perfect day for it since it was 29 degrees and on and off snow flurries!  It went from 86 to 29 degrees in the 5 days I was there!
These two were like little kids all afternoon...playing with black magnetic sand,
running in a hamster wheel, solving puzzles,

 climbing in tree houses,
riding bikes on a high wire
and creating clones in the Genetics lab.  We had a late lunch at Cheesecake Factory before driving them back to campus so I could catch my flight.  Only 4 more weeks until the school year is over and I see them again.  Such a fun day!

KU Mom's Weekend

I arrived a few days early for Mom's weekend.  I spent some time pretending to be a college student (as noted in Taylor's Snapchat)!  I would park on campus each day, walk to McLean's Market or the Student Union and work on my laptop while Taylor was in class.
I visited my favorite spots, took a tour of the Natural History Museum with Taylor and did some shopping in the bookstore.
I met Taylor for a cookie and lemonade fundraiser for her friend's sorority event at Wescoe Beach,
got my first tour of the Chi Omega house (Taylor's home next year) and enjoyed nightly dinners with Taylor to finish off each day.
By Friday night, most of the moms had made it to Lawrence.  We went out to a delicious Mexican dinner at Port Fonda with a fantastic group of moms and daughters.  Taylor has some super sweet friends!

Then it was off to "The Hawk" to experience the bar scene.  We listened to the bar band which was so cool
and I screamed like a little girl when I spotted 2 of KU's basketball stars!

Saturday night we attended the Chi Omega silent auction and dinner at Macula's Banquet Hall.

We were serenaded by the Beta boys and shared our family stories with girls and moms at our table.
Then it was off to The Bull and The Wheel to meet up with Andrew and some of their friends.
 Chi Omega ladies
I finally had a chance to meet Richard, one of Andrew's closest friends from SAE.
We had such a great weekend in Lawrence and now I'm even more excited for Family Weekend in the fall.  I sure love this kid and just love all that KU has done for her!!

Caressa and Kelly

Matt and I got all dressed up for a lovely evening at Lake Oak Meadows

to celebrate the wedding of Caressa and Kelly.  It was a gorgeous venue in the wine country
with an outdoor ceremony
and reception.
Matt became close with Kelly when he supervised him at the San Marcos Station.  His family is from Iowa and we loved finally meeting them.
The weather was perfect for a lovely evening of dinner, dancing, drinking
and time to catch up with some close department friends.  We wish Caressa and Kelly a lifetime and love, health and happiness!

Ready To Drink Tour

We gave concert tickets to Allison for Christmas.  She has been excited for months and ready to see Cole Swindell's Ready to Drink concert!  Tami bought Kylee tickets as well, so we went to dinner together before the show and sat one row apart.
Lauren Alaina was the opening act and was fantastic!
Chris Janson was super entertaining and awesome on the harmonica.  He got the crowd up and on their feet in time for Cole Swindell.  We sang along to most of the songs and had a great mother/daughter night!

Easter

Most of our Easter was spent with this view as we flew home from Atlanta,
but Allison still managed to have an Easter basket waiting for her at home.  Our first year without an egg hunt through the house too :(
