Great Oak Memories

The WSB teachers arrived at our door this morning to drop off gifts and say goodbye to each of the seniors. So kind of them!  We visited on the porch for a bit and shared a few memories.
They gave Allie her GOHS blanket and a sweet note.
This year's yearbook cover was so perfect for what these kids have been through the last few months!
Allie had Turbo and Emma over to look through the yearbook and enjoy a few laughs and memories.
Each senior had their yearbook personalized on the front page of the book...such a cool detail!
Here is the ad we put in the back of the yearbook sending our congrats to our graduate.

Back to Kansas She Goes

One positive of this Coronavirus quarantine was the extra 2 months we got with Taylor here is CA.  She has been home since March, but heads back to Kansas tomorrow.  We visited the beach one last time
and gave the pups a special afternoon at Dog Beach.  I know she is excited to return to her house and friends in Kansas, but we loved having her home.
We had one final visit in the backyard and s'mores with friends before packing for her trip home tomorrow.

Virtual Graduation Day

This girl is graduating today...well sort of!  Graduation is really on June 4th, but today is the filming of all of the students walking across the stage so they can have the video ready to view by June 4th.
Allison receive her ropes for WSB and the white stole for NHS.
Families had to wear masks and stay behind the fence as they watched their students complete the gradation process.  Unfortunately, they only allowed 2 family members per student so Taylor stayed home.  25 students per each 30 minute time slot.
Holding a sign with her name for editing purposes
and collecting their diploma covers.
At least she saw Riley and could see one friend!  I think that is the hardest part...not getting to celebrate this event with friends!
Parents were allowed on the field for a few minutes of photo opportunities.

Then we drove over to Temecula Creek Inn for a few more photos with different backdrops.

Congratulations Allison and the Class of 2020!  This will be a graduation you will never forget!

Mother's Day

I was treated to a lovely Mother's Day by my crew!  Matt and I took the pups on a walk while the girls decorated, picked up donuts and made a fruit salad and iced coffee.

We drove down to Encinitas for a nice walk along Moonlight Beach and enjoyed the time outside.
They spoiled me with a relaxing afternoon and sweet gifts to top it all off.  I'm glad we could all be together and I am so grateful for them!

Allison is Eighteen!

Allison is 18 today!
We did our best to make her feel special since we are still under quarantine.  We decorated her door as we do every year
and made the kitchen look festive too!
We told her we were going on a family walk, but instead, she walked out to a birthday parade in her honor!
Such wonderful friends lined our street and honked their horns as they made their way by our house...delivering balloons, signs and gifts.

 She felt so loved!
We kept our distance and visited for a bit out front.
Then Kylee took her to the park for a little picnic...so sweet!
In the afternoon, we met up with a photographer to do Allie's senior photo shoot.
It was nice to do something somewhat normal for a few hours and enjoy the change of scenery!

We ended the night with La Cocina takeout and a special birthday cake/gifts.  I know this isn't the 18th birthday celebration she envisioned, but I hope she felt the love of family and friends.  Happy 18th Allison!
