Griffith Observatory

It was a hot, muggy day as we arrived at the Griffith Observatory, but we were excited to cross off a few more items from our summer To Do list. Allison really wanted to visit this spot after studying the Solar System in class this year. We spotted the Hollywood sign on our way up the hill.

The grounds and views were absolutely beautiful from this spot above Hollywood.

We had a quick picnic lunch before heading inside to learn about the telescopes, weather patterns, eclipses, zodiac signs and the periodic table.

Leslie and I both agreed we will have to return on a cooler day to hike some of the trails that lead down the mountain from the Observatory, but for now we were all anxious to make our way to the next stop on our list...HOLLYWOOD!
