Ballard Locks

Today we spent the afternoon in the town of Ballard, first having lunch at Ray's.

It was a delicious lunch with an even better view from the outdoor seating.

Then we made our way to Ballard's Chittenden Locks, which assists boats passing between Lake Union and Puget Sound.

We also spent time there touring the fish ladder, used by salmon to travel upstream to the waters of Lake Washington.

We were able to see quite a few salmon through the windows in the fish viewing room. It is also the home of a beautiful botanical garden and a great place to picnic!
