Independence Day

Taylor, Devan and Andrew were all in the 4th of July parade this morning for community service.  They walked behind the City of Temecula's "Temecula Has Heart" float.
This town really has a great sense of community and I love all of the events throughout the year.
After lunch we dropped Allison at Carson's so she could spend the day and night at her family's party.  They swam and watched the Pechanga fireworks and then did some of their own in the cul-de-sac.
Taylor, Matt and I went over to Jacob's house for a fun family BBQ.  The kids swam, we watched the consolation World Cup game and had a chance to meet Andrew's parents.  Taylor and Andrew watched through the window inside as we talked for an hour or two!  They were very nice and we actually had quite a bit to discuss besides our kids.  His mom grew up in Clinton, IA…not far from DeWitt.  They love college basketball and we hope to all go to the Aztecs vs. KU (they are both alumni) game in Dec.  We stayed for the fireworks and had a nice view from their balcony.
