Independence Day

One of the main reasons for our trip up to Danville was for the girls to experience the tradition of the Danville parade.  There is just something special about it!  When we arrived at 7:30am, we just had to laugh at all of the chairs lined up and chained together overnight, holding spectator's spots.  They even used chalk to mark off their territory!

Dave, Jenny and the boys met us at Starbucks and we had a perfect shady spot for the parade.
The applauded for the fire department, the Danville police and the veterans.  Both Monte Vista and SRVHS had cheerleaders, there were people dressed like BBQs, a Neil Diamond cover singer and much more.
But the most traditional part of the parade is the Clampers that close it out with shotgun blasts into the air.  They have been doing it for 39 years and it is what always sent us running at the end of each parade.  This year, we stuck it out and enjoyed every last one!

I think we all enjoyed the tradition!
We continued our fun day with lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings
and then had a great night with Scott and Elizabeth.  It was great catching up with them and the girls had so much fun looking at 3D pictures, seeing the nursery and feeling baby Jack inside Elizabeth's belly.  He is due any day!!
