KU Family Weekend

Back together for Family Weekend in Lawrence!  We picked up Taylor for an early dinner and some shopping on Mass Street.
Then off to Rock Chalk Park for the KU vs. St. Louis University women's soccer game.  KU came from behind for a 4-2 win and remain undefeated.  It was a warm night with great fans and a beautiful sunset!
I embarrassed my family getting a pic with Baby Jay, but does it look like I cared?  Ha!
Stopped for ice cream at Silas and Maddie's
before taking taylor back to her house for the night.  Chi Omega is showing it's school spirit too!
We were back at Chi Omega early Saturday for an open house brunch before the football game.
We enjoyed Taylor's guided tour and ate breakfast while getting to meet some of her friends and their families.  Such a beautiful house!
Then on to the football game to cheer on the Jayhawks.  They aren't know for being a strong football program, but are excited with their new running back Pooka!  It was a big win against Rutgers today and we loved learning the traditions of "Waving the Wheat" and singing the KU songs.
Hannah Gail joined us too and was our "adopted" daughter the rest of the day.
and we had fun tailgating and sitting with the Simon's!  Too bad it was hotter than heck and we felt like we were melting!  By halftime, KU had a comfortable lead so we headed to The  Oread to get some lunch and drinks.
View of the stadium from The Oread.
We even spotted one of my favorite KU basketball players, Udoka Azibuke!!
Andrew was at a house party down the street so we met up with him there after lunch.  Lots of drinking, football watching on the porch, life-size Jenga and visiting with fellow Jayhawk families while trying to beat the heat.
After showers and naps, we picked up Taylor and Andrew for dinner and margaritas at Pueblo's.
Matt and Allison were ready to call it a night after dinner, so they dropped me off at The Wheel with Taylor and Andrew.

Loved every minute we got to spend with Taylor this weekend and love seeing her so happy here.  We had a nice breakfast at The Roost Sunday morning and stocked her up on a few things before saying goodbye.  Can't wait to see her again in October...
