Walk Thru the American Revolution

Taylor was back into her colonial costume for a fun 5th grade history program called Walk Thru the American Revolution. Last year, they had a similar program to learn California history, which we loved. So I had Matt join me up at the school to watch this event. An outside company comes into the school, sets up this great display, involves all the students through games, presentations and acting out battles.

Taylor was an expert on The Townshend Act and sat in the "expert" chair to share what she had learned.
She also was a soldier in the Battle of Lexington and Concord. The leader said she did a great job loading and firing her musket!

Her last role was as Martha Washington. She explained what her role was in history and demonstrated how she knit socks for her husband. She was very red and she handed the socks to her husband, the 5th grade version of George Washington. This is a great way for the students to learn and saves the school so much money since they don't have to take a bus anywhere.
