We were up early on our first morning and had this great view from our room everyday! We loved sitting out there each day and whale watching. Within minutes, we would see breaching, blowing and tail slapping!
The girls stayed in the room relaxing while Matt and I took a nice walk along the water. This view never gets old!
We attempted Kapalua Bay, but there wasn't any parking by 10:00am, so we stumbled on Napili Bay. It was the best "stumble" ever and turned out to be our new favorite beach. So gorgeous!
Matt and Taylor did some snorkeling
and we all spent lots of time playing in the waves.
We especially loved the tide pools at this spot...very protected and full of sea life! We even spotted our first few turtles of the trip!
When we returned to Kahana Beach, we noticed this endangered Monk Seal resting on the sand. It beached itself at about 11:30am and soon after, volunteers had roped off the area and allowed the animal to rest while they answered questions.
By early evening, it made its way back into the water with no harm done. I guess this is a rare sighting, even by locals, so it was pretty cool to witness.
Tonight's dinner was Aloha Mixed Plate for our favorite Shoyu Chicken and white rice. It is such a casual location right next to the Old Lahaina Luau but one of our favorites.
I got a Wahine and the girls got a virgin Lava Flow and Pina Colada smoothie. We finished the evening walking around the Lahaina Cannery Mall, buying sweatshirts and watching local hula dancers put on a show.
