If someone would have told me 3 weeks ago that Taylor wouldn't be playing for the Hawks, I would have said they were crazy. We have loved every minute of our 3 years with Taylor's team, but tryouts and team selection caused that team to be split and Taylor wasn't chosen for the Academy team (quite a blow to all of us)!
After a few very emotional days, we really wanted Taylor to bounce back from this, find the positive in it and use it as a real life lesson. She debated playing on the Hawks Black team, switching to a new sport altogether or trying out with a new club. Taylor decided her ultimate goal was to still play soccer and maybe try something new.
We had missed tryouts for all other clubs, but she had a chance to practice with the Legends FC teams. Coach Amanda liked Taylor right away and Taylor liked the environment and positive feedback she was getting from Coach Amanda and the players. So after much discussion, she is now a member of the Legends FC Black team.
She is so sad to be away from so many of her friends, but has really embraced this new opportunity to challenge herself, be accountable to someone new and really step out on her own. I am so proud of her for her strength and determination through this tough time and am really looking forward to seeing what this season brings!
