For months, Allison has been asking to visit American Girl Place @ The Grove in Los Angeles. It has been tough to find a day to make it happen, but after Chessa told me that Lorien wanted to go there for her birthday, we set a date to take the girls.
Lorien brought her Molly doll and a long list of items she hoped to purchase to add to her current collection. Allison has been browsing her catalogs for weeks and knew exactly which doll she wanted to get.
Our first stop was to buy Kanani Akina, the 2011 Doll of the Year.
Lorien's first stop was to the salon to get Molly a spa treatment, ear piercing and new hairstyle.
Then we headed upstairs to look for outfits and accessories. The girls found a life-size version of the shave ice stand they hope to one day bring home! After lots of debating, a few pouting faces and tough decision making, each of the girls found just what they wanted. Allison picked a bathing suit and board short outfit for Kanani and a beach chair for her to sit in. Lorien found crutches and a cast set, some fruit and bowls, a new brush and a snorkel set. It was a tough lesson in compromise and patience!
We also took some time touring the adorable cafe...
and the girls made a visor before leaving the store.
They both left with smiles on their faces and lots of fun items to take home.
They had fun walking their dolls through The Grove and we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Cheesecake Factory before heading home. It was a fun end to the birthday celebration and Allison now has a American Girl wish list worth about $2,000!!!
