California Summer Camp

Allie and I drove out to Arizona to visit Wendy, David and the boys in the sweltering July heat, but had a wonderful visit!  We went to Parker's baseball game,
did some early morning/late evening walks and spent lots of time in the pool!

After a fun weekend in AZ, we brought the boys back to California with us for a change of scenery from their COVID quarantine.
Parker loved all of his cuddles with Annie and even got Kaia to be friendly!
Matt spoiled the boys with Richie's Diner desserts on night 1.  Nolan ate his entire brownie sundae and had a smile a mile wide!
Then it was 3 straight days at the beach and the boys loved Carlsbad!  They spent hours in the waves and were exhausted each night.
We loved getting so much time with them and think they enjoyed it too!
More treats with ice cream at Handel's
and Parker even ate a taco!
Wendy and David drove in Thursday night and we all had a great Friday beach day together and a special visit with the Macias'.

Father's Day

Today we surprised Matt with an afternoon of jet skiing around San Diego Bay! It was a little overcast, but a fun few hours on the water.

We cruised through the bay passing by Seaport Village, the Convention Center and
around the Coronado Bridge.
I hope this guy knows how much we love him and all he does for our family!

Graduation Day

We did our best to make "graduation day" feel special for Allison today with balloons and the house decorated.

We picked up her Dollars for Scholars sign and learned she won 2 scholarships through the program...congratulations!
We attempted to watch the graduation ceremony on tv, but there were several technical issues which made it quite frustrating.
We did get a few screenshots and are super proud of our graduate!
It may not have been the graduation ceremony they deserved, but it will certainly be one to remember!

Great Oak Memories

The WSB teachers arrived at our door this morning to drop off gifts and say goodbye to each of the seniors. So kind of them!  We visited on the porch for a bit and shared a few memories.
They gave Allie her GOHS blanket and a sweet note.
This year's yearbook cover was so perfect for what these kids have been through the last few months!
Allie had Turbo and Emma over to look through the yearbook and enjoy a few laughs and memories.
Each senior had their yearbook personalized on the front page of the book...such a cool detail!
Here is the ad we put in the back of the yearbook sending our congrats to our graduate.

Back to Kansas She Goes

One positive of this Coronavirus quarantine was the extra 2 months we got with Taylor here is CA.  She has been home since March, but heads back to Kansas tomorrow.  We visited the beach one last time
and gave the pups a special afternoon at Dog Beach.  I know she is excited to return to her house and friends in Kansas, but we loved having her home.
We had one final visit in the backyard and s'mores with friends before packing for her trip home tomorrow.

Virtual Graduation Day

This girl is graduating today...well sort of!  Graduation is really on June 4th, but today is the filming of all of the students walking across the stage so they can have the video ready to view by June 4th.
Allison receive her ropes for WSB and the white stole for NHS.
Families had to wear masks and stay behind the fence as they watched their students complete the gradation process.  Unfortunately, they only allowed 2 family members per student so Taylor stayed home.  25 students per each 30 minute time slot.
Holding a sign with her name for editing purposes
and collecting their diploma covers.
At least she saw Riley and could see one friend!  I think that is the hardest part...not getting to celebrate this event with friends!
Parents were allowed on the field for a few minutes of photo opportunities.

Then we drove over to Temecula Creek Inn for a few more photos with different backdrops.

Congratulations Allison and the Class of 2020!  This will be a graduation you will never forget!
