Senior Homecoming

My pretty girl attended her last homecoming.  I felt terrible that I was out of town, but Matt took her to SouthCoast Winery for pictures and she was very understanding.
The girls all looked so beautiful and had fun taking pictures and then going to Richie's Diner before the dance.
 Besties!

TEAM USA

Allison's Surf team had the incredible privilege to scrimmage the TEAM USA women's soccer team at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.
This team will be competing in the Military World Games that begin in China next week.  They were super talented and challenged our girls, but were so kind and appreciative for the scrimmage.  We wish them well as they represent the USA!

Kati and Brandon

Today we attended Kati and Brandon's wedding at Serendipity Wedding Gardens.  It was a warm afternoon, but a beautiful venue!

Proud parents of the groom!
It was a lovely afternoon outdoor ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour overlooking the canyon
and dinner and dancing on the patio.

I loved the photo booth and the chocolate covered banana cart!
Congrats to this very special couple!
We love the Joyce family and were grateful to be included in their special day!

NHS Induction

Allison was inducted into the GOHS chapter of the National Honor Society tonight!
Only 5 seniors were selected to represent her high school, along with 12 juniors.
Students were selected based on the 4 Pillars...Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service.
They were each presented a marble with their name on it, a flower and a certificate and were introduced individually on stage.  They each had a special slide acknowledging their proudest accomplishment and future plans.

We are so incredibly proud of this girl who puts 100% into all that she does.  She takes her academics seriously, puts so many hours into soccer and thrives to make a difference on campus and in the community.  I'm so glad her efforts were recognized!
Congrats to her friend Carson as well.  These young ladies represent GOHS well and have so much to look forward to in their future!

AGT Finale

What a fun night at the Dolby Theatre in LA for the America's Got Talent season finale!  A local blind and autistic singer named Kodi Lee was in the finals.  We have seen him play in Temecula and he is just amazing!
We had great balcony seats and loved Kodi's performance with Leona Lewis.
We also got to see Macklemore and Billy Ray Cyrus perform live
and Kodi Lee was the winner...going home with the 1 million dollar prize!  Such an inspirational story and a super fun night with these ladies!

Kaia Turns 6!

Kaia turned 6 today!  I took her to the park this morning
and got her a Pup Cup at Starbucks since she doesn't really play with toys.
We actually think she looks a lot older than 6, but she does her best to keep up with Annie.  Her new nickname is "Lumpy and Grumpy", but we love her so much!

KWU Acceptance

Although we kinda already knew this would happen,  Allison got her official acceptance to KWU today!  She is so excited to be a Coyote and we are so proud of her!

Annie is 1!

Our sweet Annie girl turned 1 today! She loves to play fetch at the park, has a tennis ball in her mouth whenever she isn't sleeping, loves to cuddle and doesn't understand personal space at all!  We just love her!
She tore into her birthday bag and loved her stuffed birthday cake and donut and all of the birthday tennis balls!

Happy 17th Kylee!

Kylee turned 17 today so I helped Tami with a girl's beach day in Carlsbad.
We picked up pizzas at Knockout Pizza
and they had fun lounging in the sand and playing a few games.  The waves were pretty big so not much swimming.
We stayed for sunset and celebrated with cupcakes.

Labor Day Visit

Wendy, David and the boys were in town for the Labor Day weekend and we didn't have any soccer!  That meant a fun day at Moonlight Beach and ice cream at Handel's on Saturday and then a sleepover on Sunday night.
They finally got to meet Annie
and she enjoyed all of the extra love!

2nd Day of 15th Grade

Taylor amused me with a "2nd day of 15th grade" picture!  She knows me too well.  I know she is sad that she is already halfway done at KU, but thought it was funny that her advisor told her she could finish a semester early and she said, "No thanks, I love it here"!  KU has been so good to her!

Another Jayhawk?

I don't think so...but congratulations to Allison for being accepted to the University of Kansas!  She still has her heart set on KWU and I see why, but she has KU as a "backup" just in case anything changes.  So proud of you for getting accepted!

Allison is a SENIOR!

Her Senior parking spot is painted,
her Red Wave gear is all washed and ready to go
and this girl is ready to get Senior year underway!
I know it will be a year full of wonderful friendships
and great memories, but I am full of mixed emotions.  Hard to believe she is already a 12th grader and on to bigger and better things next year, but I couldn't be more proud of you Allison!
Here's the 2nd day of school pic in her cute new dress and shoes.  Have the best year yet!

There's No Place Like Home (Away from Home)

We arrived at Taylor's adorable house just in time for the IKEA delivery on Tuesday.  Unfortunately, all doors were locked and we were stuck on the porch with all of the boxes, blazing heat, hungry bellies and grumpy attitudes.
After a few hours at the hotel, the landlord was able to have maintenance unlock the door and we were back in business.  A story we can laugh at now, but that was a rough start!
When we were let in, we were so excited to see all of the cute stuff her roommates had already moved in...newly upholstered couches,
their very own bar with personalized cups printed with their address
and coffee mugs with each girls' initials!
After a few days of assembling furniture and lots of shopping trips, Taylor's room was complete!

She loves having two closets, a ceiling fan, her own desk and just space to call her own.

Large kitchen with tons of storage
 Really pretty staircase and entry
Multiple entrances, a cute patio, parking for each of the 5 girls and a quick walk to town and campus. Enjoy it Taylor!!
